YOKUCHI SOSEI CAPS are a professional substrate fertiliser in capsule form, combining two essential functions in a single product. The primary function is to deliver a complex of minerals and organic biostimulators directly at the root zone — where rooted plants absorb the majority of their nutrients, and where liquid column fertilisers cannot reach effectively. The secondary function is to actively maintain and restore the ion exchange properties of the substrate, preserving its fertility over extended periods.

The 15-capsule format is the ideal starting point for nano and small planted aquariums, or for aquascapers trying substrate capsule fertilisation for the first time before committing to the larger 80-capsule pack.

Dosing Instructions

Apply capsules using tweezers or an applicator, placing them every 10–15cm near plant roots at a minimum depth of 4cm. Repeat application every 3–4 weeks.

Are SOSEI CAPS safe for shrimp?
Yes. Capsules are placed deep in the substrate (minimum 4cm) and release nutrients slowly at the root zone. When used as directed, they do not significantly affect water column chemistry and are safe for Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp.

How many capsules do I need for my tank?
Place one capsule every 10–15cm near plant roots. For a typical 30-litre nano tank with moderate planting, 15 capsules will cover the initial application with some remaining for the next cycle.

How often do I reapply?
Every 3–4 weeks. Regular reapplication maintains consistent root-zone nutrition and helps preserve substrate fertility over time.

What is the difference between the 15 and 80 capsule packs?
The 15-capsule pack is ideal for nano tanks or as a trial before committing to the larger format. The 80-capsule pack offers better value for medium to large aquariums or for aquascapers who use capsules regularly.
