YOKUCHI ISHIKO PLANT MINERAL is an innovative preparation designed specifically for treating water from reverse osmosis (RO) filters. RO water is pure but mineral-free — and without the correct concentration of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K), plants cannot maintain proper cytoplasm viscosity or cell membrane permeability, making it impossible to grow more demanding species. ISHIKO restores these minerals in precisely the right proportions, with excellent solubility and minimal cloudiness after dosing.

The 75g format is ideal for smaller aquariums or for keepers new to RO remineralisation who want to start with a manageable quantity.

Dosing Instructions

1 flat small teaspoon (~0.8g) per 10 litres of RO water raises general hardness by approximately 2°dH and 0.35 kH.

Weight dosing: 0.75g per 10 litres = 2°dH and 0.35 kH.

Use in combination with: Gen BG 1ml per 50 litres of RO water / Gen Nano BG 1 drop per 2.5 litres of water.

Is ISHIKO safe for Caridina shrimp?
Yes. ISHIKO is specifically designed for use in sensitive shrimp setups, including Caridina species such as Crystal Red, Taiwan Bee and Blue Bolt. It raises GH and KH without introducing harmful sulphates or chlorides at levels that would stress shrimp.

What GH and KH should I target for Caridina shrimp?
Most Caridina species thrive at GH 4–6 and KH 0–1. Use ISHIKO to raise GH gradually and always test with a reliable test kit before adding shrimp. For Neocaridina, a GH of 6–8 is generally recommended.

Can I use ISHIKO with tap water instead of RO water?
ISHIKO is formulated for use with RO or very soft water. If your tap water already has significant hardness, adding ISHIKO may raise GH and KH beyond the desired range. Always test your source water before dosing.

Do I need to use ISHIKO with Gen BG?
